Coral Springs Campus
Florida Medical Training Institute’s Broward County campus is located at 4400 West Sample Road in Coconut Creek. The 7,500 square foot campus opened in August 1999. FMTI is an independent post-secondary adult education center licensed by the State of Florida and accredited by ABHES. This campus provides Emergency Medical Technician, Paramedic, CNA, EKG/Phlebotomy Technician, ACLS, PALS, PHTLS and AMLS classes, as well as ACLS, PALS, PHTLS, and AMLS instructor classes. FMTI Broward also provides access to the FMTI on-line degree program for AS degrees in Fire and/or EMS Management. FMTI Broward hosts monthly state exam prep classes for EMTs and Paramedics, quarterly EVOC classes and an annual Job Interview Techniques and Prep class. Our Campus Director is Bruce Cavallari, a 30 year member of the Florida EMS community, an instructor, published author and a former student at FMTI. Our staff of instructors includes active Paramedics from many local departments who bring “real world” experience to the classroom. Students benefit from a balance of lecture, practice lab, and practical clinical experiences in local ERs or on rescues trucks and ambulances. Paramedic students gain additional knowledge while doing clinical rotations in the OR, ICU, PICU/NICU, OB, Psych and Medical Examiner’s office. Our graduates are working in fire rescue departments, ambulance operations, hospitals, doctors’ offices and many other medical responsibilities. Some of our graduates are on active duty, using the skills they acquired at FMTI Broward to provide safety and further training to our brave servicemen and women around the world.
