Curriculum

 

The Pediatric Neonatal Critical Care Transport Program is an intensive 56 hour class designed to prepare paramedics and nurses to function as members of a critical care transport team.

 

Participants will gain an understanding of the special needs of critical patients during transport, become familiar with the purpose and mechanisms of hospital procedures and equipment, and develop the skills to maintain the stability of hospital equipment and procedures during transport. Upon successful completion, the student will receive a renewable certificate from UMBC valid for three years.

Entrance Requirements

 

1. Current state or NREMT paramedic license. Nurses must have current state RN license.

2. Current certifications in BLS CPR, PALS/PEPP/PPC (Nurses may substitute ENPC), and NRP.

3. Have at least one (1) year experience as a paramedic or nurse and documentation of same.
